Toowoomba Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on, and customer-focused Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our busy and growing club. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging hospitality or golf club industry leader looking to take the next step in their career within a dynamic and welcoming club environment.
As Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to ensure exceptional member and guest experiences while overseeing all club operations, staff leadership, compliance and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily management of club operations, ensuring all department managers are supported with resources and staffing to fulfil their requirements. This includes bar, bistro, functions, and golf-related activities.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to frontline staff.
- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained across all areas of the club.
- Support rostering, recruitment, training, and performance management activities.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Manage club operations in the absence of the General Manager.
- Support the planning and execution of club run events, corporate functions, and member activities.
- Supporting the Administration team with membership enquiries, corporate sales and other daily duties that involve financial and membership reporting.
- Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, gaming regulations, workplace health and safety, and club policies.
- Foster strong relationships with members, guests, visitors, and stakeholders.
- Liase regularly with Board of Directors and Sub-Committees, attend meetings, and support the strategic and future planning of the club.

Essential Requirements
- Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality, golf clubs or a similar environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- High level of organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to POS systems such as Swiftpos or Senpos, and highly skilled with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work the occasional weekend or public holiday, however the role is mostly Monday to Friday.
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
Desirable
- Experience working within a licensed club environment.
- Knowledge of golf operations and club compliance requirements.
- Exposure to MiMembership/MiClub golf software programs
