About
Teven Valley Golf Course is seeking a proactive and personable General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nine-hole course. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in golf operations and hospitality, excellent financial management skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences to our members, guests, and the local community.
The Role
As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the golf course, which is open seven days a week. Your duties will include overseeing all golf operations, the clubhouse, the pro shop, and food and beverage services. You will develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards, collaborating with the Course Superintendent to maintain course quality and service excellence.
In terms of financial oversight, you will manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, and maintain accurate financial records. You will assist with budgeting and financial planning, utilizing accounting software to track expenses and generate financial reports.
You will also be responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining qualified staff across for all clubhouse and pro shop operations, fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, customer service, and professional development. Conducting performance evaluations and implementing staff development programs will be essential to enhance service delivery.
Your role will involve serving as the primary point of contact for members and guests, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. You will organize and oversee member events, tournaments, and social activities to enhance member engagement, ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained across all touchpoints.
Collaborating with the owner, you will develop and execute the club’s strategic plan, identifying opportunities for growth, facility improvements, and service enhancements. Staying informed about industry trends and best practices will be crucial to keep the club competitive and relevant.
Additionally, you will develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the club’s offerings and attract new members, manage the club’s online presence, and build relationships with local businesses and organizations.
About you
The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills with a focus on building relationships between the course, its members, guests, employees, and the community. You must have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a small team environment. A broad understanding of all aspects of golf course and hospitality management is essential, including golf operations, food and beverage services, and membership and guest services. A strong understanding of business administration is critical.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and experience with accounting software is essential. RSA certification and barista skills would be advantageous.
This is a full-time position that will require some weekend and holiday hours.
