Congratulations to Warwick Hill-Rennie on his appointment to the role of General Manager of The Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

Warwick started as The Chief Executive Officer at the Grange Golf Club in 2010 and joined Royal Auckland Golf Club in November 2012.

Warwick will start in his new role in Melbourne on the 15th March 2016 and leaves Royal Auckland with best wishes from his current members and form the general industry in new Zealand.

The following note was sent to all members of Royal Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon.

“After an extensive recruitment process, Warwick was the choice of all RMGC’s Council members.  He is a successful leader with a proven track record in private golf club management and, before that, in a number of corporate roles.  He possesses strong communication and member engagement skills and also has extensive event management and hospitality experience.

Warwick is currently General Manager of Royal Auckland Golf Club which is a reciprocal Club of Royal Melbourne and considered one of the premiere private golf clubs in New Zealand with a membership profile and aspirations similar to ours. Prior to that he was Chief Executive Officer at The Grange Golf Club in Auckland, New Zealand.

His education includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Auckland (2003) and a Diploma of Business Administration prior to being selected for MBA cohort. He is also a keen golfer with a handicap of nine.

Warwick will relocate to Melbourne early next year with his wife and teenage daughter. His son is currently already residing and studying at Melbourne University.

I am sure that all Members will offer Warwick a warm welcome when he commences in this important role on 15 March next year.”
