Golf Industry Central back as media partner for Golf Managers Association of New Zealand events

POSTED ON November 20, 2017 @ 10:30 am

Following the successful 2015-16 campaign sponsoring the 2016 Golf Managers Association of New Zealand (GMANZ) Conference and the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) Business Management Institute (BMI) educational programme, Golf Industry Central has again been engaged by GMANZ as media partner ahead of next year’s events.

The CMAA supported BMI educational programme will run from the 4th to the 9th October 2018 in Queenstown and is a multi-campus-based programme, providing tangible career benchmarks by which managers can track their progress and strive for various levels of competency.

This event marks the first time ever CMAA has run its BMI International programme in the Southern Hemisphere and it will be followed by the 8th Biennial GMANZ Conference.

The BMI International programme will have over 50 US and Canadian Club Managers participating and having a fantastic experience in Queenstown as well interacting with the local NZ and Australian Managers,” Golf Industry Central Managing Director Mike Orloff said.

“What a great opportunity for all to cross pollinate ideas from different countries. I’m excited to be involved again this year with GMANZ, which will be our 8th year working together.”

The three-day GMANZ conference being held at the conclusion of the BMI course is themed ‘Innovate->Change->Success’, and will see an impressive line-up of speakers provide a stimulating forum for discussion with ample time set aside to network amongst peers and experience the delights of the host city of Queenstown the “Adventure Capital of the World”.

Golf Managers Association of NZ’s new President Chris Davies said, “the continuing partnership with GIC will once again enable Australian golf managers to see the many benefits of the renowned BMI programme and attending the GMANZ Conference.”

Benefiting from the expertise of professors, industry experts and experienced club managers, successful candidates are provided with an internationally recognised qualification upon completion.

“CMAA could not be more proud to offer BMI International in beautiful Queenstown. Having a partner like GMANZ is truly the key to the success of this program as our managers seek engagement from the local managers to learn new ideas. We believe our managers will be exposed to some of the best speakers from New Zealand and Australia, first class club operations, and adventurous experiences found nowhere else in the world,” Prof Jason Koenigsfeld, CMAA, said.

“We could not be more excited to show our members how special New Zealand is as well as have them immerse themselves in Kiwi culture. My special thanks to Des, Chris Davies and the entire members of GMANZ for their continuous support, leadership and guidance.”

The Golf Managers Association NZ  is a group of over 100 golf club managers employed in the industry across New Zealand. Its principal aim is to help managers with the everyday management of their club through forums for the exchange of views, experiences and information, and to provide educational programme to enhance their career prospects. The Association also acts as a vehicle to represent members interests at national NZ Golf and district golf levels.

Golf Industry Central is Australasia’s leading golf industry marketing company and has been providing industry news, jobs and operational advice throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia since 2008 and assists in four key areas – Marketing, Operations, Recruitment and Grow the Game.
