Society of Australian Golf Architects Appoints New President
The Society of Australian Golf Course Architects (SAGCA) is pleased to announce the election of Paul Mogford of Crafter + Mogford Golf Strategies as the new President and Justin Trott as Vice-President.
Paul Reeves is to continue in his valued role as Honorary Secretary / Treasurer.
At the SAGCA Annual General Meeting held in Melbourne late last month, Paul was elected the new President following Harley Kruse’s retirement from the role.
Paul Mogford said, “It is an incredible honour to have been elected by my colleagues to the position of President. I would sincerely like to thank Harley for his tenure these past four years and hope to follow on from his good work”.
Mogford said; “An ongoing focus for our Society and Members is to meaningfully contribute to the betterment of our game. This comes through positive environmental stewardship and sensitive design via our ongoing input to Golf Australia’s GC2030 Strategy and collaboration with our colleagues at the European Institute of Golf Course Architects and the American Society of Golf Course Architects via our Global Advisory Board participation,”
“In addition, a keen area of focus for our Society going forward is on accessible golf and the women’s game to provide more playable and enjoyable golf through our design initiatives. These initiatives follow our yearly publishing of ‘Golf Architecture’ magazine with Issue 23 just released and our ongoing representation on the Board of The Australian Golf Industry Council”.
