The Victoria Park Golf Complex is located at Herston in the Brisbane CBD. Our Golf Facilities include:

• 54-bay, two-tier, day/night driving range
• Golf Learning Centre with state-of-the-art golf improvement technology, providing golf lessons and club fitting
• Popular 18 Hole Putt Putt course, which also runs theming for 5 months of the year (is Christmas, Halloween & Easter)

Expansive retail store with access to all major golf brands.

The complex is currently home to 16 PGA/WPGA members and 2 Associate Professionals who are involved in coaching, managing, sales and administration.

The role

The Golf Shop is the primary contact point for all customers and therefore the successful candidate will possess a strong customer service attitude and personable approach to ensure an outstanding experience for guests during their visit to Victoria Park.

We are interested in employing a Golf Professional on a full-time basis to join our team, reporting to the Golf Shop Manager & GM – Golf Operations you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the management of day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop in a hands on capacity, ensuring the Golf Facilities are at the highest standards, and ensuring guests are having a great experience at all touch points of our business
• Provide leadership to the Golf Shop team. Supervision, trained and support a large number of Golf Shop staff (currently 33 in total)
• Assisting with the management of stock including Monthly stocktakes & stock refills
• Along with the above operational responsibilities we are looking for a candidate with a strong passion for retail sales, assisting customers in choosing from our extensive product range, keying customer orders
• Driving club fitting & golf lesson business for our Golf Professionals in the Golf Learning Centre including assisting with Demo Nights and VIP Product Launch Events where required
• Assisting with product merchandising when required

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

• A PGA of Australia member. Members who are Certified or Advanced in any, or all of the four streams of Management, Small Business, Game Development and Coaching will be looked upon favourably.
• Personal attributes including solid work ethic, drive, demonstrated ability to show initiative to improve processes, and being a “people person” are key to this role.
• Display a calm, productive, solution focussed approach in a fast-paced environment, identifying and effectively resolving any customer concerns or staff inquiries.
• Strong proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to positively motivate the team to achieve our business goals
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Victoria Park operates with Swift POS and Mind Body booking diary. Experience with these programs is advantageous but not essential.

The Golf Shop trades 5am-10/11pm daily with peak trading occurring evenings and weekends. Flexible availability will be highly sort after with Friday and Saturday work essentials. Some later shifts (12pm till 8pm) will be required during peak season or when special events are on however the preferred shift time in most cases would be 10am till 6pm Tuesday to Saturday weekly.
