About Cromer Golf Club

Established in 1926, Cromer Golf Club is one of Sydney’s most respected private golf clubs, located on the Northern Beaches in an attractive bushland setting overlooking Narrabeen Lagoon. The Club is recognised for its championship golf course, strong governance, and inclusive culture. The Club has a booming wellness area with osteopath, massage, acupuncture, Reformer Pilates, PT and high-performance coaching programs. Cromer has earned a reputation for friendliness, leadership in diversity, and excellence in member experience.

Members, visitors and corporate guests enjoy access to leading PGA Professionals, high-quality tuition programs, and a broad range of golfing, dining and social amenities, including a modern clubhouse and function centre, café, private dining and event facilities. The Club hosts the NSW PGA Senior Championship. Our major pennant team is in division one and boasts our home-grown talent. Significant strategic investment in the course, infrastructure and member facilities—combined with sustained growth in golf participation and club membership—has created strong momentum and a solid platform for continued success.

Cromer has an excellent and established team on course and in the Clubhouse and the Pro Shop, which was recently successfully “brought in-house”.

The Role

Reporting to the Board, the General Manager will provide strategic, commercial and operational leadership across all aspects of the Club’s activities. The Board is seeking an energetic and engaging leader with strong commercial acumen, exceptional communication skills and a collaborative leadership style that inspires high levels of engagement among members, staff and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the Club
Driving sales, marketing and revenue generation, with a strong focus on membership growth, member engagement and utilisation of Club facilities
Overseeing financial performance, budgeting and reporting
Leading people management, culture and capability development across all teams
Managing business systems, information technology and risk
Building strong relationships with members, staff, business partners, suppliers and the wider community
Supporting continued investment in the strategic development of the course and facilities

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proven success in strategic leadership, marketing and revenue growth
Strong commercial and financial management capability
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Experience managing complex, multi-faceted operations
The ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams
A genuine commitment to member experience and engagement

Experience within the golf, hospitality and/or registered club industries will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
