Sharrock Appointed General Manager of Geelong Golf Group

POSTED ON May 21, 2026 @ 11:18 am

The Geelong Golf Group has announced the upcoming appointment of Nathan Sharrock as General Manager, with Sharrock set to commence the role in the coming weeks.

The appointment comes as the organisation continues expanding its footprint across multiple sectors of the golf industry following its establishment in 2021.

They were Golf Australia Get into Golf Venue of the year and MyGolf deliverer of the year previously

Currently, with 250 + women and juniors registered each term across Geelong.

Group Growth Drives Leadership Expansion

In a statement, the Geelong Golf Group said it has “rapidly evolved into one of the most progressive golf businesses in regional Australia,” now delivering services across coaching, retail, club fitting, junior development, women’s participation programs, golf operations, club support services, events, golf tourism and community initiatives.

The organisation said the scale and complexity of the business had reached a point where additional executive leadership was required.

“The overall size, complexity and scope of the businesses now operating under the Geelong Golf Group banner, have grown far beyond what our existing leadership team could realistically continue to manage alongside day to day operations,” the group said.

“What began as a coaching business has quickly evolved into a multi faceted golf organisation operating across multiple sectors of the industry.”

Sharrock Brings Club Management and Financial Experience

The Geelong Golf Group said Sharrock’s appointment is intended to support the organisation’s long-term development strategy.

“To continue building for the future and position the group for long term growth, we knew we needed one of the golf industry’s best operators to help lead the next phase of the business,” the statement said.

Sharrock previously held General Manager positions at Barwon Valley Golf Club and Royal Hobart Golf Club.

Prior to entering the golf industry, he also worked in accounting and financial planning, bringing experience across both operational management and finance.

Oversight Across Expanding Operations

According to the Geelong Golf Group, Sharrock will oversee operations, financial management and continued growth across all businesses operating under the group’s banner.

“Nathan will oversee the operations, financial management and continued growth of all businesses that fall under the Geelong Golf Group banner, helping strengthen the systems, structure and long term vision of the group as it continues to evolve,” the statement said.

Support for Partner Clubs and Facilities

The Geelong Golf Group said the appointment is also expected to strengthen support for the more than 15 golf clubs and facilities currently partnered with the organisation across various business areas.

“This appointment will also be an extremely positive step forward for the 15+ golf clubs and facilities that currently partner with the Geelong Golf Group across various areas of the business, as we continue improving the level of service, support and opportunities we are able to provide across the industry,” the group said.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Nathan to the Geelong Golf Group team!”
