AGIF Conference Heading to Hanoi in 2024

POSTED ON January 3, 2024 @ 8:18 am

Hanoi, Vietnam: Hanoi, one of the region’s most vibrant golfing destinations, has been confirmed as the venue for the third edition of the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Conference.

Following two successful years at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Danang, the largest annual gathering of the Asian golf industry’s movers and shakers will be held in Vietnam’s booming capital city from September 17-19, 2024.

“After two fabulous years in Danang, we’re very much looking forward to seeing the AGIF Conference continue to go from strength-to-strength in Hanoi in 2024,” said Chris Gray, President of the Federation.

“In terms of golf course development, number of new players and burgeoning golfing tourism, there are few countries in the world that can match Vietnam,” added Gray, who also welcomed a new partnership between the AGIF and Golf & Leisure Vietnam Co, publishers of Vietnam Golf Leisure – the country’s most authoritative golfing title.

As well as promoting the AGIF Conference via their print and digital channels, Golf & Leisure Vietnam Co will assist in marketing the event in Vietnam.

Gray said: “Golf & Leisure Vietnam Co has been involved with the AGIF Conference since its inception in 2022. We’re now delighted to strengthen our alliance with them – and to be able to make these positive announcements so far in advance of the Conference.”

Vu Van Yen, Director of Golf & Leisure Vietnam Co, said: “Encouragingly, the golf industry as a whole in Vietnam is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.

“With golf still in its infancy in Vietnam, there remains a tremendous thirst for knowledge. As such, we’re confident that the AGIF Conference, featuring world-class speakers discussing topical topics, will be of great interest to all those who are working in golf in our country.”

Gray added: “With a strong turnout of Vietnamese golf industry personnel expected, the 2024 AGIF Conference will provide fabulous opportunities for networking not only for our member companies who will be represented at the event, but also for any golf-related companies seeking to make contacts in the golf industry in the country and gain a foothold in the Vietnam market.”

AGIF President Chris Gray.

The first two days of the 2024 AGIF Conference will be devoted to presentations and debates about the state of the industry and latest golfing trends with golf course architects, sustainability and club management gurus, golf tourism experts and prominent golfing administrators among the high-profile list of speakers.

On day three (September 19), delegates will attend the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards – the country’s most established and respected awards programme – in the morning and have the option to play a round at one of the city’s premier golf courses in the afternoon.

“The inclusion of the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards on the agenda for 2024 will add an exciting new dimension to the AGIF Conference,” said Gray.
