Da Nang, Vietnam, January 15th, 2020: Ba Na Hills Golf Club has made its debut at 89 in Golf Digest’s World 100 Greatest Golf Courses.

After taking out the 2019 World Golf Awards for Vietnam’s Best Course and Asia’s Best Course, Ba Na Hills Golf Club was ranked number 89th Greatest Golf Course in the World by Golf Digest Course Ranking Panelists. It enters the list between two other debutants, Trump International Golf Links in Ireland debuts at 88 and Ayodhya Links in Thailand at 90.

The Golf Digest ranking panel includes more than 1,700 North American golfers and 350 International players, making it one of the most exclusive and respected Golf Course Rankings on the planet.

Designed by Luke Donald in association with IMG, the stunning Ba Na Hills Golf Club is set in the foothills and native forests of the famed Ba Na Hills, only 25 minutes from Da Nang City, Vietnam. Opened in 2016, the course is surrounded by magnificent scenery that offers spectacular views on every hole. Playing to a par of 72, this highly regarded championship layout offers a great test of golf and a wonderful golf experience. A world class driving range and magnificent clubhouse add to the excellent facilities.

Paul Burley, Senior Vice President, IMG Golf Course Services commented: “We’re extremely proud to see Ba Na Hills Golf Club being included in such a prestigious global ranking. It’s amazing if you think that the course only opened in 2016, yet has already been recognised several times as one of the best golf courses not only in Asia, but around the world.”

Tim Haddon, General Manager, Ba Na Hills Golf Club commented: “To be one of the World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses is a fantastic achievement for the whole team and ownership. We’re also proud to be associated with names such as Luke Donald and IMG, which have been a great support to us since opening in 2016. We look forward to continuing to welcome golfers from around the world to Ba Na Hills and Vietnam”.

Vietnam is one of the fastest growing golf markets in the world, accounting for almost 30% of the 149 golf course projects in development across Asia. Ba Na Hills GC is situated on Vietnam’s Golf Coast in the verdant mountains surrounding the city of Da Nang. The area is home to six world class golf layouts designed by some of golf’s biggest names, all within 1 hour’s drive of each other. Da Nang International airport services up to 34 international flights per week.

Ba Na Hills GC is managed by IMG and owned by Sun Group one of the leading investors in Vietnam. The Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Novotel Danang Premier Han River Hotel and Ba Na Hills Sunworld are among the other properties in the portfolio.
