EOI: Head Golf Professional – Belvoir Park Golf Club

Belvoir Park Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic PGA Professional to run the golf services and operation of the Clubs Pro Shop as the Contracted Head Professional.

Belvoir Park Golf Club is situated on the southern outskirts of Bendigo, a large regional town of more than 120,000 population.

Established in 1947, the club is etched on the Big Hill Ranges. In 2000, the 18-hole course was converted from sand scraps to grass greens to compliment the fully watered undulating layout, which offers a fair test for any golfer in a picturesque setting of rolling granite hills.

The club has seen a continued growth in the membership base, with currently over 500 active members, and is looking to ensure the golf services to members and public meet the growing need.

Additional facilities include:

  • A small but well-stocked pro shop
  • A driving range
  • Motorised golf cart storage (limited)

What are we looking for?

Belvoir Park Golf Club is looking for a highly motivated person / company to work with to provide a range of golf services at, and on behalf of our golf club. The successful candidate would pose:

  • exceptional service to members, guests and visitors,
  • have a sound understanding of golf operations
  • able to demonstrable experience in a service orientated environment.

The service duties for this role may include but are not limited to the following:

Daily operations:

  • Operate the Pro Shop 7 days per week. Operation hours will be season dependant, though a general guide would be 7am -7pm.
  • Golf shop services:
    • Provide golf equipment for retail sales
    • Food and beverage (pro shop discretion)
    • Alcohol – sourced from Belvoir Park Golf Club Bar
    • Pull Buggy and Motorised Golf Cart hire service
    • Manage & coordinate timesheets
    • Receiving phone calls
    • Facilitating Membership enquiries
    • Other duties as required

Competitions

  • Manage the daily time sheets
  • Tee starter for club competitions (currently 3 weekly competitions)
  • Manage competition score entry and result reporting

Green fees

  • Collection of green fees
  • Manage all green fee-paying visitors on course
  • Manage visitor course behaviour
  • Manage alcohol consumption – ensure staff hold current RSA certificate and ensure visitors comply with Belvoir Park Golf Club’s Liquor Licence.

Golf Professional Services

  • Junior development and attraction
    • TAP into Golf Australia Schools program
    • Provide junior clinics
    • In coordination with a Junior Convenor, design a Junior Golf Academy
  • Continue with Ladies promotion and development
  • Club fitting, sales and repair

Driving Range

  • Manage driving range operation and provide assistance as required
  • Remuneration / Entitlements
  • Professional Service Fee of $3,000 plus GST per month
  • Green fee commission of:
    • $0 – $100,000 = 15%
    • $100,001 – $150,000 = 12.5%
    • $150,001 + = 10%
    • (2024 = $120,000):
  • •Competition Fee Commission
    • $0 – $100,000 = 15%
    • $100,001 – $150,000 = 12.5%
    • $150,001 + = 10%
      (2024 = $150,000):
  • Golf Carts – The professional has the ability to own and manage a minimum 12-15 carts themselves.
  • Exclusive right to retail and coaching with no rent or electricity payable
  • Members competition winning/vouchers are redeemable through the pro-shop

These are the general requirements of the Business and is the Clubs preferred model, however, “non-conforming” proposals that differ to the above may be considered.
