JOB: Accounts Administrator – Burleigh Golf Club (Gold Coast)
The Company
Burleigh Golf Club is a profitable, semi-private member’s golf course at Miami on the Gold Coast. We are searching for an Accounts Administrator to join our office team to help administer our bar, catering and course staff, and to serve the needs of our 1,300 members.
The Job
Working with a team of 3 office staff and reporting to the General Manager, you will be assisted by an external CPA contractor and will be responsible for preparing the club’s monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow report. In addition, administering the weekly payroll, preparing monthly journals, accounts payable, accounts receivable, superannuation and PAYG remittances, and reconciliation of bank statements.
The role entails daily cash reconciliation and associated allocation calculations in Microsoft Excel.
The club operates Xero accounts software and also uses a number of other task-specific programs such as SwiftPOS, MiMembership, and MiClub golf.
The position is full-time but can be structured part-time to suit the successful applicant. Appropriate remuneration based upon ability and experience will be offered.
The Applicant
Essential attributes:
- Experience in Xero
- Strong ability in Microsoft Excel
- A positive demeanour and an ability to solve problems and find solutions
- A willingness to learn new computer programs and workplace processes
- The ability to work within a small team supportive of your fellow workmates in the efficient operation of the office
Desirable attributes:
- Xero certification
- Prior experience with a membership program, such as MiMembership
- Prior experience in a membership-based club environment, such as a golf club, is desirable but not essential
You will be able to work unsupervised and show initiative in the workplace. You will be a team player who is highly organised, has good attention to detail and is able to work to deadlines. A Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting and at least 2-5 years’ experience working in a professional environment is desirable.
