JOB: Assistant Manager – Burleigh Golf Club (Gold Coast)

Burleigh Golf Club was founded in 1950 and is located on the Gold Coast in Southeast Queensland, just minutes from Miami and Burleigh beaches. With a reputation of a friendly membership, and enjoyable golf & club facilities, Burleigh Golf Club is now seeking to grow its administration staff.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced golf club manager or administrator looking to take the next step in Golf Operations. The Assistant Manager will support the co-ordination and development of a team that can deliver a professional, courteous, and enjoyable golfing experience for our Members and their guests.
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant must be well presented, honest, reliable, organised, and self-motivated with a good work ethic and have the skills to assist lead a professional hospitality team.
Duties
- Assist with the management and day-to-day operations of the Club, food & beverage facilities, function & events, and membership services, and overall co-ordination of club events, and otherwise assist the General Manager as required
- Golf administration duties at weekly, monthly, annual intervals, as scheduled by the Club Captain, such as forward creation of golf competition timesheets in MiClub, and tee-sheet co-ordination with the Superintendent and Pro Shop
- Assist with the preparation of reports, agendas, minutes, communications, and presentations using a range of Microsoft applications
- Provide administration support to the Club Captain, ensuring deadlines are achieved and organised golf events are delivered
- Support the Match Committee by attending meetings, producing minutes, progressing Action Items and/or assign to appropriate staff
- Provide periodical updates on the planning and implementation progress of key events & initiatives
- Report to the General Manager on organisational activities, budget variance and control, and unusual activities/occurrences
- Assist with Human Resource activities such as recruitment, performance management and appraisals, development, and communication
- Assist with marketing and promotion of the Club to Members and within the local community
- Develop and maintain a good relationship with the Club’s Members by being a good communicator, listener and being responsive to their needs
- Participate actively and effectively in identifying process improvements within the Club
- Work in collaboration with club, course and pro shop staff, and other internal departments to provide a consistent approach to work processes, ensuring the golf competition and events are completed as expected
- Assist with customer service in times of special need

- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in an administration role in a similar environment
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality of information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and professional demeanour
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise task completion, and work effectively within required timelines, exercising initiative
- Competent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems
- Available to work varied shifts from early mornings to afternoons, including weekends and Public Holidays
- An understanding of the requirements of the Liquor Act 1992
- Must have full working rights within Australia and full COVID Vaccination
