JOB: Golf Operations Assistant – Royal Hobart Golf Club
Royal Hobart Golf Club Head Professional Matthew Docking is looking to employ the services of a full-time Golf Operations Assistant.
Royal Hobart Golf Club is a private members club located at Seven Mile Beach (Hobart), 20 minutes from Hobart’s CBD. Royal Hobart is the premier members club within the State of Tasmania. The course is a 6174m, Par 72 layout which played host to the 1971 Australian Open won by Jack Nicklaus. Recently the club has upgraded its practice facilities and is in the planning stages of further upgrades to the facility which will solidify its position as the premier members club in Tasmania.
The role will combine retail shop management with golf operations as the key focus. The role is a great opportunity for a positive and enthusiastic individual to join a small tight-knit team of like-minded individuals.
Key Attributes

- Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
- Experience in pro shop operations including stock control, merchandising and sales
- Enthusiastic, motivated and positive individual
- Ability to work a flexible roster including weekends and public holidays
- Knowledge and experience with the MiClub system would be advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administering Member competitions, assisting with Member and Guest bookings
- Tee time management
- Assist with day to day operation of the pro shop
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation within the pro shop
- Reporting to the Head Professional on all daily operations and customer service matters and taking direction from the Head Professional
Remuneration
This will be a full-time salaried position with remuneration commensurate with your qualifications and experience. This position is open to all applicants with experience within the golf industry regardless of their qualifications.
There will be coaching opportunities outside of rostered hours for a qualified PGA member / Associate PGA member should they wish to coach as well.
