About
The Tasmania Golf Club is an 18-hole Championship layout that has consistently been rated in the Top 100 golf courses in Australia. It is situated on the picturesque Barilla Bluff on the outskirts of Hobart. The course has remained largely unchanged since its opening in 1971.
Additionally, the Club has an on-site Pro Shop with 3 golf professionals and includes a restaurant and members’ bar that is open to members and the general public.
Within the next 12-24 months a major reconstruction project will be undertaken as a result of the widening of the Tasman Highway. This includes the construction of a new 20ML water storage lake, reconstruction and relocation of the 16th hole and part of the 17th hole, and reconstruction of the 1st green. The practice fairway will also be redeveloped including practice ball dispensers.
Following this Government- funded project, staged upgrades will be carried out to the remainder of the course according to a Masterplan developed by Ben Davey of Contour Golf Design. This will include an entirely new irrigation system. The aim is to maintain and improve upon the Club’s position as a Top 100-rated golf course in Australia and develop the course to its maximum potential. This redevelopment provides an exciting opportunity for the right applicant who will play an integral role during all construction works.
