JOB: Director of Golf – Forster Tuncurry Golf Club

About

Forster Tuncurry Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced qualified PGA member for the Director of Golf position. We offer an attractive salary and bonuses for exceptional performance. This role will report directly to the General Manager.

Located on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW, just a 3-hour drive from Sydney, our club serves 1,650 members and guests with two well-maintained 18-hole courses: the Top 100 Championship Tuncurry Golf Course and the Par 66 Forster Golf Course. We host competitions seven days a week and are known for our excellent golfing experience, making us a popular venue for major events.

We aim to be “One Club, two courses providing Australia’s favorite regional golfing and hospitality experiences.” Our new clubhouse and golf museum at Tuncurry (NSW’s only golf museum) demonstrate our commitment to improving facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage golf operations for both courses
  • Lead and mentor staff
  • Develop and implement retail strategies for the Golf Shop
  • Control stock and manage departmental profits
  • Handle repairs and club fitting
  • Provide golf coaching and tuition programs
  • Oversee the club’s cart fleet and golf calendar
  • Administer daily competitions and results
  • Organize charity and corporate golf days
  • Support our Stay and Play golf packages
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and growth
  • Encourage participation by reconnecting with lapsed golfers and attracting new players

Qualifications:

  • Positive, “can-do” attitude
  • Strong staff management and mentoring skills
  • Ability to build relationships with staff and members
  • Passion for golf and modern coaching methods
  • Excellent customer service
  • Budget management skills
  • Flexibility to work any day of the week
  • Friendly personality with strong communication skills
  • Fully qualified PGA member (preferably Advanced status)
  • Experience with business software (Mi-Club and Swiftpos)
  • Current First Aid and Working with Children certificates
