JOB: Engagement Officer – Golf NSW

Employment Type: Part Time (3 days per week)

Golf NSW is the governing body for golf in New South Wales, dedicated to promoting and supporting the game of golf at all levels. Golf NSW is seeking a Part-Time Engagement Officer to join our team.

This role will be 3 days per week, based in the Murray in a remote capacity.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the key responsibilities and requirements:

  • Program Implementation:

Coordinate the delivery of various national programs, including MyGolf, MyGolf Schools, Get into Golf Programs, and the Australian Golf Foundation Junior Girls Scholarship Program along with state-based programs such as Lunchtime Launch it, Juniors on the Move, Jack Newton Tour and School based events.

  • Facility Engagement:

Develop and implement community-based initiatives to attract new participants, including on-site and off-site activations.

  • Multi-Cultural & All Abilities:

Support the development and implementation of programs that cater to diverse populations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Passion for Golf: A genuine enthusiasm for the sport and a desire to grow participation.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and address challenges in a timely and effective manner.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide excellent customer service to participants, members, and staff.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot).
  • Knowledge of National Participation Programs: Familiarity with national programs and initiatives is a plus.
  • Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with others.
  • Event Management Experience: Experience in planning and executing events is a plus.
  • Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyse data and identify trends.
  • First Aid Certificate: A first-aid certificate or willingness to attain one.
  • Digital Competency: Ability to use digital platforms and tools effectively.

Selection Criteria – Essential:

  • In-depth knowledge of the game of golf.
  • Proficiency in database management, Microsoft Office, and reporting.
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement internal and national programs.
  • Strong passion for game development and participation activities.
  • Working closely with Regional Academy of Sport (SSA)
  • Residency within the region of operation.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Experience engaging with external stakeholders to drive participation.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet annual KPIs.
  • Experience working with children and understanding appropriate behaviour when engaging with them.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWC) for NSW.
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (required for accessing schools).

Selection Criteria – Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the structure of golf in NSW and Australia.
  • Qualified PGA Member and/or PGA Associate.
  • Qualifications in Sports Administration, Sport/Event Management, or a related field.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as needed.

GolfNSW and JNJG are committed to protecting children from harm. All applicants who will work with children must undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment.
