JOB: Finance Manager – Long Reef Golf Club

Long Reef Golf Club based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to be a key member of the Club’s senior management team.

We are a unique club that boasts over 950 active playing Golf Members, 2700 House Members, 25-30 Corporate/Charity golf events and over 100 Weddings each year. Our beachfront Clubhouse operates a waterfront café and bar 7 days a week open to our Members, guests and the general public.

About the role:
The Finance Manager will work with the General Manager and Board to execute the Club’s financial function inline with the Club’s strategic plan.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Finance Manager’s key responsibilities will include:
- Financial management of the Club including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting to the Board and senior management on a monthly basis.
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable including the payment of suppliers, invoicing of members and banking of receipts and cash.
- Administering the Club’s statutory compliance including ATO payments, superannuation and insurances.
- Manage the Club’s payroll and ensure the Club complies with the relevant awards and industrial relations legislation requirements.
- Develop, implement and monitor appropriate financial systems, procedures and internal controls to support the efficient and effective operation of the finance function.
- Manage the end of year reporting and work closely with the Club’s Auditor to present the Financial Statements.
About you:
- You are a highly motivated individual with strong time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Professional qualifications such as CA/CPA will be highly regarded.
- A hands-on, can-do approach working well in a team environment.
- A positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Ambitious for personal development and growth.
- An understanding of golf or previous employment in a sporting industry and experience in MYOB and POS systems is desired along with a strong IT background.
