The Role: 

As the General Manager of Barwon Valley Golf Club, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the club’s future success. Responsibilities include:

• Financial Management: Oversee the Club’s finances, ensuring sound fiscal practices and strategic budgeting.
•  Brand Development and Marketing: Collaborate with the Committee to shape the Club’s brand identity and seek out marketing and PR opportunities to promote our facilities effectively.
•  Membership Growth and Retention: Develop and implement strategies to retain existing members while actively seeking opportunities to expand our membership base.
•  Food & Beverage and Function Operations: Lead the growth and optimization of our Food & Beverage and Function operations, providing exceptional service to our patrons.
•  Staff Development: Select, mentor, and develop staff members to achieve their full potential and deliver outstanding service.
•  Legislative Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, serving as the Club’s Responsible Person and Public Officer.
•  Golf Operations Oversight: Work closely with the Golf operations manager to oversee all aspects of the golfing operations, maintaining high standards of service and player experience.
•  Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with reciprocal clubs, Golf Australia, and other local community organizations to enhance the Club’s presence and impact.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Ability to manage, lead a team and inspire a team 
• Genuine passion for golf and a commitment to providing exceptional service to members and guests.
• Working knowledge of Golf and Club operating systems, with experience in MiClub considered an advantage.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and outgoing personality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative mindset with the ability to develop and execute innovative business growth strategies.
• Full Australian working rights and availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Solutions-oriented approach and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
