Murwillumbah Golf Club is a stunning golf club in the picturesque Northern Rivers region of NSW. Located on the banks of the Rous River in the Tweed Valley it is one of the most beautiful and challenging country courses you will ever play.

Located under the stunning peak of Mount Warning (Wollumbin) this landmark is ever-present as you traverse the spectacular layout of our course. Located just 30 minutes from Coolangatta airport and the Gold Coast, the club offers top-class facilities in a pleasant country atmosphere.

With 700 plus playing members and over 2,000 social members our club offers a wide range of outstanding food and beverage options. The restaurant operates across 7 days offering lunch and dinner options. The club is also a popular wedding and special events venue all year round. The club is experiencing significant growth.

The Role

The Murwillumbah Golf Club is seeking a General Manager. The GM will work directly with the Board of Directors and is responsible for all aspects of the clubs’ activities, ensuring that operations run smoothly and that our members enjoy exceptional experiences. The successful applicant will be a passionate self-motivated person guiding the board with financially viable planning as we manage the growth of the club through its next development phase.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a “can-do attitude” who is excited by change and enjoys working with a small but extremely talented team. Your leadership will drive growth, enhance profitability, and meet the challenges ahead.

• Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating teams across a range of areas.
• Experience at working closely with a board to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the club’s vision.
• Experience in ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements
• Someone to drive continuous improvement and explore growth opportunities.
• Strong financial management and reporting skills
• A manager who understands the importance of strengthening the club’s community presence
• A commitment to exceptional customer service and an eye for detail.
• A person to initiate and monitor a personnel policy that motivates and builds a strong team through development and support.
• A person that will maintain membership in club and other professional associations, attend conferences, workshops etc to keep abreast of current information, developments and best practices.
• The ability to oversee the care and maintenance of all the club’s physical assets and facilities.
• Someone capable of driving the marketing and exposure of the club to generate awareness and growth of its membership and its ancillary facilities
• The ability to deliver the highest standards for food, beverage, sports and recreation, entertainment and other club services.

Requirements

The successful applicant will need to show experience in the following fields or the ability to be trained and develop club specific management skills.

• Golf/Sports and Recreation Management – preferred but not essential
• Accounting and financial management – essential
• Human resource management – essential
• Business Management and development – essential
• Food and beverage operations – essential
• Marketing – preferred but not essential
• Legislative compliance – essential
• Building and facilities management – preferred but not essential
