JOB: General Manager – Randwick Golf Club

About

Idyllically located near the shores of Malabar Beach, established on this location in 1960 the Randwick Golf Club and golf course boasts sweeping views of the ocean and operates a busy 18-hole member and public access golf course, clubhouse with full bar, catering and function facilities plus gaming. The club has a distinct community feel to it boasting over 800 golfing members and 500 social members. The club is in a financially stable position enabling the Board to continue to improve the course and clubhouse facilities for its members, guests, and visitors.

We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and innovative person with effective communication and personal skills who can in collaboration with the Board, drive the club’s Strategic Plan while managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club. The successful candidate will be responsible for the achievement of club’s objectives and key results to ensure that the business and legislative requirements are met. This includes a responsibility for directing and managing the club to ensure it is commercially orientated and viable in the long term, through provision of cost-effective and high-quality services.

This incorporates but is not limited to the following:

  • Achieving and maintaining a high standard of work performance to set an example for other club employees.
  • Ensuring the confidence of club members and their elected representatives of the club.
  • Performing the duties with professionalism and integrity by providing operational information to the club’s Board of Directors in a timely manner.
  • Being responsible for the administration and implementation of club policies and duties (as determined in conjunction with the club’s Board of Directors) on a day-to-day basis.
  • Preparing annual budgets.
  • The establishment and maintenance of the club’s relations with the community and external organisations including government departments, local council, golf associations, industrial bodies, liquor licensing, and gaming division etc.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling (mandatory)
  • Governance training
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Understanding of club industry regulatory compliance and legislation
  • Enthusiastic, passionate team player
  • Sound written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Have a ‘hands-on’ management style and can lead by example.
