JOB: Golf Course Superintendent – Settlers Run Golf and Country Club

About

Settlers Run Golf and Country Club is a private members Golf Club with over 1,700 members with approximately 65,000 rounds of golf each year. The Club is now looking for a suitably qualified individual for the role of Course Superintendent.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced in turf agronomy.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees the maintenance and turf quality of all areas of the golf course and recommend changes/improvements to the golf course for the Golf Management Committee/Board of Directors to consider.
  • Supervises and participates in applying chemical, pesticide and fertiliser applications as required including the recording of such applications.
  • With the General Manager, develops annual operating budgets for maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Excellent time management skills. Maintenance practices are to be scheduled around member play to maximize efficiency.
  • Provides operational and safety training for employees to ensure that staff are operating within health and safety guidelines and relevant legislation.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff to encourage a great team atmosphere.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records on weather data, maintenance procedures, personnel training, and machinery equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of golf course drainage requirements over a winter period.
  • Valid Victorian driver’s license or the ability to obtain a Victorian driver’s license.

The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator, will be able to lead a team and will possess strong attention to detail. You must be able to manage the course staff’s time efficiency, ensuring all work are completed on time.

The Club has several projects currently underway; construction experience and turf management will be looked upon favourably.
