JOB: Golf Manager – The Western Australian Golf Club

We are seeking an experienced and professional Golf Manager to lead our golf service delivery and elevate The Western Australian Golf Club’s member and guest experience. Reporting to the General Manager, this leadership role oversees all aspects of golf operations, including the Golf Shop, events, competitions, customer service, and team management.

About the Role

As the Golf Manager, you will work at a strategic and operational level to deliver exceptional golfing experiences and ensure the smooth coordination of day-to-day golf activities. You will oversee the Golf Shop’s retail operations, manage golf events and competitions, maintain high service standards, and support the ongoing growth and professionalism of our golfing programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all Golf Shop retail services including inventory control, merchandising, and product promotion.
  • Oversee the administration and delivery of competitions, events, and major tournaments, including timesheets, draws, handicaps, results, prize allocations, and communication.
  • Respond to corporate golf enquiries, manage bookings, and coordinate event logistics.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, manuals, Conditions of Play, and annual fixtures.
  • Promote a strong customer service culture and provide training to Golf Shop and operations staff.
  • Monitor and enforce club policies such as dress standards and pace of play.
  • Manage cart fleet bookings and maintenance.
  • Maintain up-to-date golf-related content on the Club website and social media.
  • Liaise with key external stakeholders including Golf WA, Golf Australia, MiClub, and other clubs.
  • Attend committee meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and ensure effective communication across departments.
  • Operate within set budgets and uphold health and safety standards across all activities.

  • High computer competency; experience with golf systems is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a willingness to develop new skills.
  • A positive, approachable, and team-focused attitude.
