Golf Performance and Academy Manager

(Head Teaching Professional)

Apply your demonstrated leadership, extensive experience in golf coaching, excellent management, and organisational skills, together with your PGA Certification, to lead the coaching and golf performance activities, and world-class golf academy, of the Kooyonga Golf Club, one of Australia’s premier golf clubs.

Located on the Adelaide sand belt and established in 1923, the Kooyonga Golf Club is recognised internationally as one of the leading championship courses and private golf clubs.

With a strong membership, redeveloped clubhouse, and world-class practice and teaching facilities, the Club has maintained a proud tradition and heritage for 100 years, whilst continuing to position itself at the forefront of the golf industry.

Over the last 12 months, the Club has significantly upgraded its existing Golf Academy and game improvement facilities to now include:

  • 3x indoor/outdoor teaching bays featuring TrackMan, BodyTrak, high-speed cameras, video analysis, and a simulator.
  • SAM PuttLab in dedicated putting room with provision for Zen Green Stage.
  • Pavilion shelter across the width of the driving range to enable all-weather use, with provision for future installation of TrackMan range.
  • Sports lighting to illuminate the full-length driving range, expansive putting green, and adjacent chipping green, to enable use of the facilities from 6am to 10pm every day.

We are now seeking a suitably qualified and dynamic Golf Performance and Academy Manager (Head Teaching Professional) to lead the provision of the Club’s golf coaching and performance activities; and drive the golf academy business overall.

Your priorities will be to lead, support, and develop a team of high-performing PGA Coaches and PGA Associates employed by the club; develop and implement, for both individuals and groups, comprehensive game improvement activities, club-fitting, fitness, and other offerings of the highest standard;  support and foster the development of member golf, women’s golf, junior golf, and the club’s pennant teams and junior squads; and optimise the potential of the club’s golf academy, and take advantage of technology to assist.

To be considered for the role you will possess the following attributes:

  • Demonstrated leadership, with a focus on delivering outstanding member and guest experiences by a high-performing coaching team.
  • Extensive experience in golf coaching, in a high-quality golf club and/or golf facility.
  • Excellent management and organisational skills, with a willingness and versatility to work collaboratively with the general manager, and senior management team.
  • Certified membership of the PGA of Australia, or international affiliate, with an advanced status of coaching and/or game development.

It is essential that you are friendly, independent, and a highly motivated person with a growth mindset, passion for golf coaching and performance, great communication, and personal skills that match the club’s culture, and values.

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, commensurate with the role and your credentials.
