JOB: Golf Shop Assistant/Golf Professional – Oxley Golf Club
About
Oxley Golf Club is a prestigious 18-hole Par 71 Championship layout measuring 6062m. Facilities include a Driving Range, a Championship golf course, a putting green, a chipping and bunker area, and a modern mini-golf area.
We are currently looking for a Golf Shop Assistant (non PGA) or PGA Golf Professional.
This is your opportunity to become part of a progressive, loyal, and valued team that creates a rewarding and unique workspace. The opportunity exists to work with and be supported by the current team of PGA Professionals and a PGA Associate.
The role will suit a person who is passionate about game development and working in the grassroots of the game, individual coaching (if PGA), and club fitting, to complement shop hours. We can start with more shop hours to get started and help you integrate and train you into our team requirements.
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be required to undertake the following:
- Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage including marshalling and starting the fields as required.
- Assist in managing the competition schedule and daily competitions
- Assist in managing the operation of the golf cart fleet, hire equipment, and practice facilities.
- Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions be they face-to-face, via telephone, or email.
- Ensure all transactions are processed according to policy.
- Assist in all aspects of the retail operation including merchandising, sales, stock control, and product knowledge.
- Assist with the Junior Development Program
- Assist with Club fitting and equipment repairs
- Any other duties as directed from time to time.
Position Remuneration / Entitlements:
The remuneration package will be guided by conditions for PGA Professionals under the Amusements Events and Recreation Award.
If not a PGA Member, the successful applicant will still enjoy commission on sales, and Lesson/clinic revenue at a negotiated split.
We forecast the right applicant will earn potentially in excess of $90,000 with earnings from coaching, commissions, and shop hours.
