JOB: Head Teaching Professional – Keperra Country Golf Club

Keperra Country Golf Club is located 10km from the Brisbane CBD. It seeks to add a PGA Golf Professional to the Golf Team as Head Teaching Professional to provide teaching and game development services to its Members, Visitors and the broader community.

A well-established facility with over 95 years of history, the Club is a semi-private Club with 27 holes, practice green, chipping green, practice fairway, and a recently added 5-hole short course, ideal for introducing students to the game. The Club has a membership portfolio of 1500 members and manages approx.—100,000 rounds per year.

An exciting opportunity has been presented at Keperra Country Golf Club with the long-term Teaching Professional looking to transition away from the full-time role.

The role

This role will report directly to the Golf Operations Leader (Mr Peter Zealley – PGA Member). Assured remuneration will be provided via game development services, including coordinating the award-winning Junior Golf Program (2022 and 2023 Qld Junior Golf Program of the Year) and Coaching Clinics on-site and off-site, which will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

The successful candidate also has an opportunity to negotiate up to 100% of all self-generated coaching income. The successful applicant for this position must be a PGA Member, ideally Certified under the PGA’s ACE Program. Furthermore, they must hold an advanced status in either coaching or game development streams and a commitment to ongoing training and personal development.

The role is a senior position in the club’s operations, and the successful candidate must possess and display the skills and attributes of a leader.

The following duties will form part of the responsibilities of the successful applicant:

  • Advance and deliver the club’s Junior Development Program on-site and off-site.
  • Participate in Junior planning and evaluation meetings.
  • Continued development of our successful women’s ‘Get into Golf Clinics’
  • Provide fee-based tuition services of the highest standard to members, guests & community.
  • Support Golf Shop Retail Sales & Service activities.
  • Club fitting and sales
  • Proactively promote and market the facilities and services provided by the Club.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current PGA Member with a Certified status and being Advanced in the relevant ACE streams: Coaching and/or Game Development.
  • Minimum 3 years coaching experience & commitment to ongoing development.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate Game Development, focusing on Junior Golf, Women’s & new to Golf Participants.
  • Demonstrated Club fitting and repair skills.
  • Sound business acumen with commercial & financial competence
  • Proven customer sales and service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
  • Deliver purpose-driven coaching solutions for club members

Remuneration:

  • 100% of all income created from self-generated tuition.
  • Negotiated fixed rates for the delivery of all club game development programs.
  • Additional revenue opportunities via established Sporting Schools Programs.
  • Commission on select golf equipment sales and repairs.
