JOB: High Performance Manager – Golf Australia (VIC)
About Golf Australia:
Golf Australia is the governing body for golf in Australia.
Our goal is to raise the level of interest and participation in the game from grass roots golfers through to the elite levels, spectators, volunteers, and associated bodies.
Our key responsibilities include conducting national tournaments and championships including the Australian Opens, managing the Rules of Golf and the national handicap system, and developing programs and opportunities to engage as many people as possible into the game.
About the role:
The role of the High-Performance Manager – Victoria, moves beyond the role of coaching and takes responsibility for the strategic direction of the high-performance pathway program supporting athletes transitioning from elite amateur golf to Top 100 professional level.
Key activities include:
Identify, select and develop talented Golf athletes and prepare them for elite level competition and ultimately international success.
Build and maintain relationships and forge strong communicative ties with key stakeholders of the Victorian Golf pathway including high school golf programs, PGA, WPGA, and current and future primary PGA coaches.
Monitor the athlete’s long-term development and daily training environment and hold athlete’s and their entire service team accountable for short and long-term development both on and off the golf course.
Prepare all Victorian selection policies and assemble a team of selectors that will select Victorian State representative teams and nominate athletes for opportunities nationally and internationally
Manage the Golf program budget and operations in consultation with appropriate parties and key stakeholders.
To be considered for this position, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate across a wide range of stakeholders
- Proven experience in the development of elite athletes and coaches, including devising, and implementing successful programs and individual performance plans.
- Sound knowledge of athlete pathways nationally and internationally and the Australian Golf stakeholder network to ensure the program compliments the national and state direction of the sport.
- PGA status will be highly regarded however not essential.
In addition, you will be available to travel for up to 6-8 weeks annually to support our Victorian athletes competing in national and international events.

- Current Driver’s Licence
- Current Victorian Working with Children Check;
- Current First Aid qualification
