JOB: Human Resources Coordinator – Golf NSW

Golf NSW is the peak representative body for the sport in New South Wales.

Our role is to encourage participation, fellowship, fair play, and the well-being of our member clubs and districts. Managing fields as diverse as the Rules of Golf, Amateur Status, course ratings, handicapping, high performance, development, participation, and competitions, including inter-club, district, interstate tournaments, Men’s, Women’s State Amateur, and Open Championships.

Today Golf NSW boasts being the largest golf organisation in Australia, with 384 affiliated Clubs and in excess of 160,000 registered members.

Golf NSW also offers guidance to affiliated golf clubs and District Associations on various legal, financial, industrial, political, and administrative issues as required to ensure that the well-being of the sport is maintained.

Golf NSW is looking to employ an enthusiastic and passionate person to the role of HR Coordinator.

The position requires a full-time commitment and has been created due to recent restructuring and growth to over 30 members of staff.

The role requires a self-motived individual with exceptional people skills. Experience in database management and monthly reporting is essential.

The position will report to the Golf NSW CEO.

Responsibilities:

HR advisory and Support

  • Provide assistance on all payroll, award, legislative, and employee-related matters
  • Provide assistance and advice if requested with any performance-related discussions undertaken
  • Administer regular staff surveys and assist in the implementation of strategies to improve employee engagement and culture
  • Coordinate all performance management requirements
  • Prepare HR reports as and when required
  • Manage and coordinate WHS requirements across three offices (Brighton Le Sands, Wollongong Golf Club, Dunheved Golf Club)
  • Undertake new employee inductions and manage all onboarding and offboarding processes

HR Administration

  • Provide HR administrative support; including creating employment contracts, general letters, and HR documentation, coordinating onboarding, preparing payroll paperwork, processing background checks, and offboarding
  • Manage employee documentation, including electronic filing
  • Ensure accurate information flow with Payroll
  • Coordinate staff training as required and identify training requirements for the organisation to meet its statutory obligations and the learning and development needs of the staff and organisation

Recruitment

  • Support hiring staff in all parts of the recruitment process – including – advertising, candidate application management, tracking, and selection as needed
  • Manage online recruitment platform, including training of hiring managers

Policy and Procedures

  • Assisting with the annual policy review process
  • Keeping the Employee Handbook updated
  • Keeping position descriptions updated and ensuring these are filed appropriately in the HR files

Other duties

  • Other duties from time to time as requested by the CEO and/or member of the Senior Leadership Team.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant experience in the areas of human resource management.

Knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience working in human resources in a not-for-profit environment (desired).
  • Demonstrated ability to establish processes and keep them on track
  • High level of experience in recruitment (tracking and selection)
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using HR systems (HR and Payroll – desired)
