Qualified Greenkeeper
“Duntryleague” is looking for a suitable candidate to perform as an active member of the Course Maintenance Team in the performance of all necessary Course Maintenance and Greenkeeping duties as outlined by the Course Superintendent.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person who can work well within our friendly, safe, and hardworking team environment who strives for continuous improvement of the golf course to present the best possible turf surfaces.
Duties Include:
- Maintenance of all turf areas on the Course to a high standard, inclusive of greens, tees, surrounds, bunkers, fairways, roughs and out of play areas.
- Proficient in course set-up.
- Carry out turf renovation, including scarifying, coring, dethatching, and sanding as required.
- Assist in any other areas on the club’s property as directed by the Course Superintendent.
- Safely apply pesticides and fertilizers when required.
- Irrigation management.
- Use of agronomic course requirements to set course maintenance.
- Follow and implement safe workplace practices.
Experience and Requirements:
- Certificate 3 in Sports Turf Management or higher.
- Experience in all aspects of Golf Course maintenance.
- Mechanically minded and competent with wide a range of turf machinery.
- Experience and knowledge of chemical and fertilizer application and poses a current chemical and spray license.
- Experience with irrigation and repairs also beneficial.
- Be hard working and physically fit for manual work.
- Competent to work alone and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with attention to detail.
The salary will be negotiated along the lines of the relevant award and the successful applicants experience.
The position is on a full-time basis and there is a requirement for rostered weekend and overtime work throughout the year. The position is available for immediate start.
