JOB: Regional Manager: Northern NSW – Golf NSW
Description
Golf NSW and Jack Newton Junior Golf are looking to employ an enthusiastic and passionate person to the role of regional manager across Northern NSW. The Northern Region captures the Northern Rivers, and other district areas to be confirmed.
The position requires a full-time commitment.
The position has been created due to an internal restructure that will provide support and services to all golf facilities, drive and increase golf participation within clubs, all schools, minigolf, golf practice centres, virtual golf, while providing support at targeted local events and activations.
The role requires autonomous, self-motived individuals with exceptional people skills who understand the sport of golf and are keen to develop all levels of golf. Experience in database management and monthly reporting is essential.
The position will report to the Senior Regional Manager and Golf NSW CEO
Selection Criteria – Essential
- Knowledge of the game of golf
- Knowledge of Golf across the named regions
- Sound database management, Microsoft office skills, reporting skills
- Ability to learn internal and national programs
- Residence within the region of operation
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workloads
- Experience engaging with external stakeholders to drive participation
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Ability to work across various days including weekdays and weekend where required
- Occasional requirement to develop events and/or support GolfNSW/JNJG event staff at golf events across the region and beyond
- Current & Cleared Working with Children Check (WWC) (NSW)
- Must have experience working with children
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviour when engaging with children
- Current Driver’s License
Selection Criteria – Desirable
- Knowledge of the structure of golf in New South Wales and Australia
- Qualified PGA Member
- Qualifications in Sports Administration, Event Management, or similar
- Support personnel across various areas of participation such as School Golf Convenors, PGA Associates, Community Coaches and more
- Ability to be flexible with the role as weekend/public holiday work may be required from time to time

Roles and Responsibilities Itemised:
Schools:
- Drive/Increase and Provide Sporting Schools programs
- Work closely with local Community Coaches
- Administration management for all Sporting Schools programs within the designated region
- Develop and drive links with schools and local golf clubs/facilities
- Develop and drive relationships within PSSA and their respective presidents
- Develop and drive Lunchtime Launch it programs
Encourage Shield/Junior Pennants:
- Support (JNJG) staff
- Work with DGA JPO’s
- Drive engagement & partnerships with clubs to grow ES participation
- Club Communication
- Collaboration across all stakeholders
Juniors on the Move:
- Work closely with and support JNJG
- Drive engagement & partnerships with clubs to grow participation
- Provide Newcastle and Hunter programs
- Develop or support NRDGA Junior OOM Series
Get into Golf Women & Seniors:
- Drive & Encourage club engagement in programs
- Support and Promote marketing around programs
- Assist clubs with pathway options for further engagement, even membership
Clubs:
- Engage & develop repour throughout GM/CEO, board & operations teams
- Encourage engagement of national programs/initiatives
- Assist in greater engagement of player pathways
- Support development of long-term outcomes such as Women in Golf Charter, Girls Scholarship and more
Northern Rivers Ladies DGA:
- Work with advisory committee
- Manage Northern Rivers Ladies events calendar and major events.
- Support clubs across all participation programs
- Provide quarterly report/update to advisory committee
Essential Requirements
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification
- First Aid Certificate
- Current Provide/Perform CPR
- National Police / Criminal History Check
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Drivers Licence
Desirable Criteria
- Human Movement / Coaching / Exercise / Sports Science Degree
- Advanced Resuscitation
- Sports Trainer Accreditation
- Occupational / Workplace Health & Safety Certification
