JOB: Venue Manager – Calliope District Golf Club

The Role:

As the Venue Manager, you will be the heartbeat of our Club, embodying our commitment to outstanding hospitality, operational excellence, and community engagement.  This multifaceted role requires a dynamic and dedicated leader capable of managing all aspects of the Club’s operations, including bar services, golf bookings, club promotion, sponsorship acquisition, and event organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver unparalleled hospitality, ensuring members and guests consistently experience high levels of service.
  • Collaborate with the Club’s Management Committee to develop and execute strategies that drive performance and membership growth.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and development of staff across various departments, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, in accordance with the Club’s Policies and By-Laws, ensuring the seamless functioning of bar operations, golf course, Kitchen Management (when it is Re-established) and other Club facilities.
  • Spearhead marketing and business development initiatives, enhancing the Club’s visibility and attracting new members and sponsors.
  • Organise and promote golf events, driving participation and ensuring they are executed to the highest standard.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all, adhering to relevant regulations and checks.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses 5+ years of experience in leadership roles within the hospitality, sports, events, or golf industries.
  • Holds a Responsible Management of Licensed Venue (RMLV) certificate.
  • A degree in business, recreation, or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership and team development skills, with a history of mentoring and fostering high-performing teams.
  • Has a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering outstanding results.
  • Exhibits strong financial, business, and analytical acumen.
  • Brings an energetic and vibrant approach to team engagement and customer service.
  • Skilled in sales, marketing, and business development.
  • Experienced in creditor and stock control management.
  • Must have current First Aid certification, and be the holder of a Blue Card (working with children)
