JOB: Wagga City Golf Club – Pro Shop Manager
The role
Salary: 80k – 90k
Wagga City Golf Club is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Pro Shop Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Pro Shop operations, including but not limited to:
- Overseeing and implementing strategies to improve overall golf operations including competition and social golf, retail and member services;
- Ensuring Golf Club facilities and assets including golf carts and hire clubs are well-maintained and meets the needs of our members and visitors;
- Communicating with members and visitors including weekly newsletter, regular member updates, etc;
- Maintaining inventory and ordering merchandise;
- Assist in managing customer orders and ensuring equipment repairs are completed in a timely manner;
- Providing excellent customer service to our members and guests;
- Developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies;
- Managing financials, budgeting, and cost control;
- Providing hands-on instruction, give equipment advice and basic club fittings;
- Staff performance and training;
- Assisting with sponsorship program;
- Corporate and Charity golf day bookings;
- Representing the Club in a professional manner at all times.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong management skills and experience in retail or golf operations.
- Passion for the game of golf, proven track record in player development, knowledge of equipment and ability to fit clubs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong sales skills and the ability to think strategically
- Be available to work varied shifts from early mornings to afternoons, including weekends and Public Holidays
- A PGA certification is preferred, but not required.
- 3 years of experience in the golf industry or equivalent
We are seeking a candidate who is available to start immediately. This position is an excellent stepping stone to larger roles within the golf industry, such as General Manager or Director of Golf.
