The Club
Located in the renowned Melbourne Sandbelt, Woodlands Golf Club provides a premium golf and membership experience for people who love their golf, on a course renowned for its timeless design. The golf course is currently ranked 25 in Australia, and ranked 7 in metropolitan Melbourne, by Golf Australia magazine (Jan 2022).
Celebrating its centenary in 2013, the club’s strategic goal is to ensure the long-term viability and ongoing reputation of Woodlands as a club of choice.
As well as meeting the needs of members, the club actively engages in external activity to maximise the use of its facilities such as corporate golf events, weddings, and other functions and events. The revenue and profit from these activities are important elements of the club’s financial model.
The Role
We are now seeking a new General Manager to guide the club into the next phase of its growth and development. You will be actively involved in all aspects of the club and responsible for all operations.
Your priorities will be to effectively implement the club’s strategic plan and accompanying strategic projects and lead, support and develop a high-performing team to enhance member experience and drive growth, revenue, and profit.
The role demands a General Manager with a desire to lead.

- Commercial success, with a proven record of business management and effective execution of strategic and annual business plans.
It is essential that you are a friendly, independent and highly motivated person with good communication and personal skills that match the club’s culture, with a presence to represent the club confidently and capably. Relevant tertiary education, experience in the management of a member-focused business, and golf knowledge and/or experience, are highly desirable.
