Lakelands Country Club (WA) Appoints Madden as General Manager

POSTED ON March 5, 2026 @ 12:26 pm

Lakelands Country Club in WA is proud to announce the appointment of Josh Madden as its new General Manager. A highly distinguished leader in the Australian golf and leisure sector, Madden joins the club following a series of high-profile executive roles, bringing a wealth of experience in strategic governance and operational excellence.

Madden’s career is highlighted by his recognition as the 2020 Greg Norman Medalist for National PGA Management Professional of the Year. His appointment marks a return to Western Australian club leadership after serving as the Chief Executive Officer of The Killara Golf Club in Sydney and, most recently, as the Manager of Clubs & Facilities for Golf WA.

“I’m thrilled to be starting this new chapter as General Manager at Lakelands Country Club,” said Josh Madden. “My career has been dedicated to advancing the golf industry through innovation and strong governance. I look forward to applying my experience to enhance the member experience and drive the strategic vision of this fantastic club.”

Madden’s robust background spans both private club environments and large-scale public facilities. He previously spent nearly six years with the Town of Cambridge, where he served as the General Manager of Wembley Golf Course before being seconded to the role of Acting Director of Corporate & Commercial Services. In that capacity, he oversaw a diverse portfolio including Finance, Property, Contracts, and major community assets like the Bold Park Aquatic Centre.

Earlier in his career, Madden served as the General Manager of the historic Toowoomba Golf Club, where he further solidified his reputation as a Certified PGA Professional with Advanced Management credentials.

“Josh’s track record of driving financial growth and executing complex strategic initiatives makes him the ideal leader for Lakelands,” said a spokesperson for the Lakelands Board. “His deep roots in Western Australian golf, combined with his national leadership experience, will be invaluable as we move into our next phase of growth.”

Madden officially commenced his role this month, moving quickly to engage with the membership and staff. His focus remains on delivering a premier golfing experience while ensuring the club remains at the forefront of the industry’s best practices.
