New Zealands most successful golf retailer
New Zealand’s most successful golf retailer has become the property king of Wakatipu’s Mooney Road.
Aucklander Eric Faesenkloet, who owns The Golf Warehouse comprising retail outlets and golf ranges, last month sold his newly-built home at 47 Mooney Rd, near Arrowtown, for an eye-watering $5,180,000.
He sold it, he says, because he’s bought another property in the same road that’s more suitable to develop a small nine-hole course to test golf equipment on.
Faesenkloet only finished building his first Mooney Rd home this year.

The blurb states it was constructed from western red cedar board and batten cladding and schist stonework, has four master bedrooms, all with ensuites, and is split into three separate linked wings.
He says he’s now spending “quite a bit of money” on the Quinn house to turn it into a private family estate.
“We’re doing a major renovation to take it to the same standard as we did the other house.”
