POSTED ON February 14, 2011 @ 10:00 am

PGF International PTY Ltd, PGF New Zealand Ltd and Walkinshaw Sports has entered into an exclusive long term licensing partnership which will have Walkinshaw Sports assume all sales, marketing logistics, manufacturing, development and supply for Australia and New Zealand territories as of the 14th February 2011.

Walkinshaw Sports, which is part of the larger Walkinshaw Group, is known and recognised for their success in the Australian and New Zealand motor sport industry and various related businesses. The Walkinshaw name has been intrinsically linked with Australian V8 Supercars for more than 20 years and their success remains unmatched in this country. The team has amassed eight V8 Supercar Championships, six Bathurst 1000 victories and has recorded more wins than any other team. The organisation has also been responsible for developing and nurturing such talent as Craig Lowndes, Greg Murphy, Mark Skaife and more recently Garth Tander.

Walkinshaw Sports management team have had a long history and understanding of the sports / golf wholesale speciality markets in both Australia and New Zealand, and are absolutely committed in delivering exceptional customer service to its Trade customers.

Walkinshaw Sports – (MD) Ivan Krizman sees synergies in the direction of both companies (PGF & Walkinshaw) it just makes sense to combine the history & heritage of the local design, technology, performance of PGF with the existing brand portfolio of Walkinshaw Sports that we either own or distribute in the region but more importantly it provides real value to customers and consumers alike.

PGF (MD) – Brett Tucker believes the partnership is the next step in the evolution of the PGF brand, the relationship brings significant opportunities to the table in both design and marketing while upholding the brand values that have for so long been such and integral part of the PGF offer.

PGF was established in 1932 formerly known as East brothers; the company was then merged with Chesterfield to become Precision Golf Forging (PGF) in the 1950’s.

Throughout this time PGF has been renowned as a world class brand with a great performing and innovative products. Such great players as: Kel Nagle (winning the centenary British Open), Peter Thompson, Greg Norman, David Graham, Billy Dunk, Paul Gow, Rod Pampling, Michael Campbell, Simon Owen and John Lister to name but a few have all at one time been involved with the brand.

Walkinshaw Sports has a high profile experienced team that will only be strengthened by the addition of key senior PGF staff who will be integral to the operations, sales, design and marketing of all the brands in the Walkinshaw Sports stable.
