JOB: Director of Golf – Maroochy River Golf Club

Maroochy River Golf Club, located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Golf to lead our golf operations and deliver exceptional member and guest experiences.

The Club proudly supports a membership of 1,100 golfers and maintains a robust waitlist, reflecting its strong reputation and demand. It averages 85,000 rounds annually and is set to welcome a brand-new fleet of 65 golf carts in June. The practice facilities are first-class, featuring a full driving range, a short game facility, two indoor/outdoor teaching bays, and an additional dedicated indoor teaching space. The Club also has a well-established junior development program, with plans underway to further grow and strengthen its foundations.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Director of Golf will oversee all aspects of the club’s golf operations, including:

Management of the golf shop retail program, cart fleet, and golf services,
Collaborate with the Match Committee and Operations Manager to coordinate competitions, corporate and all social golf,
Delivery of exceptional member and visitor experience,
Leadership, development and scheduling of golf operations staff,
Collaboration with the Junior Coordinator and Teaching Professionals on junior development and coaching programmes,
Liaising with course maintenance and club management teams to ensure a seamless golf experience,
Driving commercial outcomes through retail, golf days, and customer engagement.

About You

You are a driven, proactive leader with a deep understanding of golf operations and a proven ability to deliver first-class service in a busy, member-focused environment.

You bring:

Strong operational and people management skills
Excellent communication and leadership qualities
A PGA Membership or equivalent industry accreditation
Demonstrated success in similar roles within the golf industry
A genuine passion for the game and for creating memorable golf experiences
