JOB: Finance Manager – Federal Golf Club

About the role

Due to our incumbent and long-serving Finance Manager going into retirement, we have a fantastic opportunity to join full-time as Finance Manager at Federal Golf Club – Canberra. This is a senior position, reporting directly to the General Manager.

You will be responsible for overseeing the Club’s financial operations, knowledge of HR and the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020 while the ability to provide strategic financial leadership to support the organisation’s objectives. The role is primarily Monday to Friday and is a fantastic
opportunity to enter into Club Management for now and into the future.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the Club’s accounting, cash flow, financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly, and annual financial statements
  • Attending the monthly Finance Meeting, where you will setup the agenda and compile the minutes of the meeting
  • Overseeing the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  • Developing and monitoring budgets, analysing financial data, and providing recommendations to the General Manager and Treasurer
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Working with the diƯerent department heads of the Club to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Fostering a positive and productive work environment

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar finance management role, preferably within a club or hospitality industry
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Demo
  • nstrated expertise in accounting software and financial systemsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data
    and provide strategic insights
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to eƯectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is expected.
  • Any additional professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) would be highly desirable

With our history dating back to 1933, our 18 hole golf course is ranked in the Top 100 , exceptional facilities with a short and long practice range, putting green and chipping green.
