New GolfLoot Playbook Codifies Traralgon Success for Partner Clubs

POSTED ON April 27, 2026 @ 11:33 am

GolfLoot has released its Club Activation Playbook, a guide detailing how facilities can generate recurring revenue through the national Partner Clubs program. The guide codifies the operational behaviours used by Traralgon Golf Club during its pilot phase, providing a roadmap for turning member engagement into a consistent income stream with minimal administrative overhead.

The Operational Model

The Playbook outlines five simple activation behaviours—starting with a five-minute staff briefing—that allow clubs to integrate GolfLoot into their existing operations. Under the program, members and guests receive recognition and rewards for standard club visits, whether they are playing a round, visiting the pro shop, or stopping for a drink. These rewards include entries into national prize draws, such as a recent promotion offering a trip for two to the 2027 Masters in Augusta.

The Partner Clubs program, which launched in late March, aims to return more than $1 million annually to Australian golf clubs. The model offers a 20 per cent revenue share to the club on each GolfLoot membership. This scales as clubs retain more enrolled members:

  • 100 retained members: Approximately $3,600 per year.
  • 250 retained members: Approximately $9,000 per year.

The Traralgon Pilot

Traralgon Golf Club saw over 40 members enrol in the first few weeks of activation, a figure that has continued to rise.

Ross Chapman, President of Traralgon Golf Club, noted that the model relies on leveraging existing activity rather than adding new operational layers.

“The real shift for us wasn’t about doing something new. Our members have always been at the centre of this club. What’s changed is that every time they turn up — whether they’re playing, having a drink at the bar or just calling in — they’re participating in a new and exciting layer of potential rewards, and we’re getting paid for it. A one-page memo for staff, some signage, a line in the newsletter, and we have a new revenue line our members are actively part of. For any club, that’s the combination you want.”

Addressing Implementation Uncertainty

The Playbook was developed to address the primary concern raised by prospective Partner Clubs: What will this actually mean for my team and my members? By documenting the specific, real-world behaviors used by Traralgon, the Playbook clarifies the activation process for new facilities.

The Club Activation Playbook is provided to facilities upon acceptance into the Partner Clubs program. Participation is currently capped at 100 facilities nationwide. Applications remain open at https://www.golfloot.com.au/partners.
