About the Role
The General Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of Mount Martha Public Golf Course, ensuring an exceptional golf and customer experience while delivering strong business, participation and community outcomes. The role drives the facility’s performance, sustainability, reputation and long-term success through effective leadership, stakeholder engagement and business management.
Reporting to the Team Leader Recreation Services, the core responsibilities include:
- Leading all aspects of golf course operations, customer experience, pro shop services and facility management.
- Driving financial performance through effective budget management, business planning, revenue growth and performance reporting.
- Building a high-performing and customer-focused team culture through leadership, coaching and workforce development.
- Growing participation, events, memberships and community engagement opportunities.
- Developing strong relationships with members, user groups, local businesses and community stakeholders.
- Overseeing governance, risk management, workplace safety and compliance obligations.
- Contributing to strategic planning, capital works initiatives, procurement activities and continuous improvement programs.
About You
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute golf course leader with a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and community outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience within the golf industry, with responsibility for business operations and service delivery.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop multidisciplinary teams while fostering an inclusive, customer-focused culture.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, business performance, revenue growth and operational improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and resolve issues effectively.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans, participation programs and service initiatives that enhance customer and community outcomes.
