Golf Surprize League: Driving Change on the Golf Course

POSTED ON April 19, 2023 @ 9:15 am

Golf is more than just a sport for many Australians; it’s a beloved pastime that brings joy, challenge, and camaraderie. Now, golfers can combine their love for the game with charitable giving through Golf Surprize League, a unique and innovative concept that allows golfers to win prizes while raising funds for charity.

What is a Traditional Golf League?

A traditional golf league typically consists of a group of players who compete against each other on a set day, with the goal of winning prizes by outplaying their opponents. While these leagues can be fun and competitive, they often require regular commitments and do usually not raise funds for charitable causes.

What is Golf Surprize League?

Golf Surprize League takes the concept of a traditional golf league to a whole new level by allowing golfers to convert any game of golf they play during the year into opportunities to win prizes and contribute to charity, without needing to beat other players. The league has a secondary purpose of assisting golf courses directly without involving the course or its staff in any administration.

Here’s how it works: A charity can hold a golf charity day to raise funds, and the day after the event, all participants (including those who couldn’t make it on the day) can be invited to join the Golf Surprize League. This ensures that any time a golfer plays a game of golf throughout the year, the charity will receive funding from Golf Surprize, and any time a golfer wins in the league, the winnings will be spent at the course where the charity event was held.

This unique approach allows golf courses to attract more charity events and offer a year-round solution for raising funds through golf, rather than just relying on one-off events. With just one invite to golfers the day after the event, the Golf Surprize League can help build up funds for a charity that all members of the course want to support throughout the year.

How does Golf Surprize League work?

There is no joining fee to be part of the Golf Surprize League, instead, golfers pay in lots of 4 rounds, allowing golfers to support the charity for a small 4 rounds per year. Golfers pay $40 and nominate any four rounds of golf they plan to play by entering the Tee Time each time before they play. These nominated rounds become their League Rounds, and prizes are hidden under their tee time, plus each round they receive a Target Score™ to beat, and there are even prizes for stray shots to win.

On game day, golfers receive an SMS with a link to unlock the prizes and reveal the brand logos of nearly 400 different brands, including well-known names like Ampol, Woolworths, Coles, BP, Bunnings, KMart, Harvey Norman, and many more. If the logos turn green, it means the golfer has won the amount shown to spend with that brand.

What makes Golf Surprize League unique is that golfers have multiple opportunities to win prizes without needing to beat other players or sign up to set days. It adds an element of fun and excitement to every round of golf. Knowing that part of the fee goes directly to charity, it gives more meaning to the game. Golfers no longer need to feel the pressure of playing a perfect game; even stray shots can lead to prizes, making every round more enjoyable.

Who is Golf Surprize League?

Golf Surprize was established in 2018 and is the official rewards partner of the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) in the USA. It is also a proud sponsor of the Alabama-NW Florida, Georgia, and Middle Atlantic PGA Sections. The company’s primary objective is to reward ALL golfers, not just handicapped golfers, who support charities like Cancer Council.
