The successful applicant will help lead and grow the Club’s golf development programs, with a strong emphasis on junior golf participation and coaching pathways, women’s golf development, beginner and intermediate player programs, cadet and representative support, school and community golf activities, and longer-term high-performance initiatives. The role may include an initial component of golf operations and golf shop support while the successful candidate establishes and builds their coaching and development portfolio.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery and expansion of women’s golf participation and coaching programs.
  • Provide individual tuition, group coaching and development sessions for members, visitors, juniors and squads.
  • Support the Club’s cadet and representative golf programs, including Saturday program delivery.
  • Develop beginner-to-performance participation pathways for golfers of varying ages and abilities.
  • Assist with school, community and promotional golf activities that encourage participation in the game.
  • Work with management to support future high-performance and golf development initiatives, including the Club’s planned virtual centre and aligned pathway programs.
  • Liaise professionally with members, parents, visitors, sponsors, sporting bodies and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the coordination of golf events, competitions, development days and related activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of lessons, program participation and development outcomes.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service within golf operations and, where required, support golf shop duties including bookings, check-in, retail presentation and member and guest service.
  • Uphold the Club’s standards of presentation, communication, professionalism and child-safe practices.

About you

  • Experience in golf coaching, sports development or golf program delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and run junior and/or women’s golf programs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A professional, energetic and well-presented manner.
  • A genuine passion for growing participation in golf.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A willingness to assist across both coaching and golf operations functions.

Preferred qualifications and experience

  • PGA Membership, PGA Associate status, or recognised overseas golf coaching/professional accreditation.
  • Sports development, coaching or golf academy management experience.
  • Experience working with junior golfers, women’s programs and participation-based sports initiatives.
  • Experience in club, academy, federation or high-performance golf environments.
  • Rules or referee accreditation, or competition administration experience.
  • TrackMan, TPI, video analysis or player-development technology exposure.
  • Experience delivering clinics, camps, school programs or corporate golf sessions.
  • Current Working with Children clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Current first aid qualification, or the ability to obtain one.

What we offer

  • Full-time employment with an established and progressive golf club.
  • A genuine opportunity to build a long-term coaching and development role.
  • Support from Club management in growing participation programs.
