From editor: Thank you for all you have done for our industry.

Walkerden Golf, the wholesale distributor of golfing products and accessories that has been a mainstay of the Australian golf industry since 1977, has announced its plan to retire and close its doors. The company’s final day of business was October 1st, 2025.

The Sydney-based business, which has served the industry for nearly five decades, announced that allow staff, suppliers, and customers a full year to prepare for the transition.

In a statement titled “A Heartfelt Thank You from Walkerden Golf,” the owners expressed their profound appreciation to everyone who has been part of their long journey.

Commitment to Staff and Suppliers

“We owe an incredible debt of thanks to our dedicated staff and long-term suppliers,” the company stated. “The success we achieved over nearly five decades was built on your hard work, commitment, and dedication. It simply wouldn’t have been possible without you. We cherish the professional relationships and personal friendships that have developed over the years.”

Gratitude to the Golf Community

Walkerden Golf also reserved special thanks for its clientele. “To our customers—thank you,” the statement continued. “We deeply appreciate the trust and support you’ve given us. It has been a privilege to serve the Australian golf community and to play a small but meaningful role in the success of your businesses. We are immensely proud of the connections we’ve made across the industry.”

Looking Ahead to Retirement

Far from expressing regret, the company framed the closure as a positive step into the future.

“While this chapter is coming to a close, there is no sadness, only a deep sense of gratitude. We will forever cherish the memories, relationships, and experiences we’ve gained throughout these wonderful years. It’s time for us to move forward and enjoy retirement, holding these moments close.”
