JOB: Golf Operations Manager – The Victoria Golf Club

Reporting to the General Manager, the role of the Golf Operations Manager will be to manage and lead the Golf Operations at both an operational and strategic level.

The Golf Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining a golfing culture that encourages participation and enhances camaraderie with Members.

Expectation of the role

Working closely with the Head Professional, the Golf Operations Manager will lead and support the Golf Operations team. You will have a passion for upholding and delivering exceptional member service, attentive organisational skills, and operational understanding. You will have the ability to build relationships with staff and members in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and regularly review the business plan for golf operations, including annual budgets and associated analysis and reports.
  • Produce operational plans, systems and policies for the effective day to day running of the golf operation.
  • Continually analyse the golfing environment within the Club, identify issues and opportunities and make recommendations on how to address them.
  • Develop and implement Workplace Health and Safety procedures for Golf Operations, complying with up-to-date legislation, ensuring they are clearly communicated, effectively monitored, and regularly reviewed.
  • To liaise with Local and National golfing bodies.
  • Manage the Club’s Match function including.
  • Annual fixture book
  • Profiling and promotion of all upcoming events
  • Tee sheet set up and daily time sheet management. (Knowledge of MiClub and Golf Genius systems would be an advantage.)
  • Competition Management
  • Scoring and reporting systems management
  • Representative team support and coordination function
  • Offer input into the conditioning, playability and set up of the golf course.
  • Oversee the care and maintenance of all the physical assets of the golf facility.
  • Communicate via the website and notice boards all golf and course related news and information that might be of interest to members.
  • Work with other department heads (golf course, F&B, accounts, IT and communication) to ensure the professional delivery of golf-related events.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in a Golf Operations Manager role in a similar environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and information.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide a professional approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with limited supervision, manage time effectively, exercise initiative and set priorities to work within required timelines.
  • Advanced computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
