Finalists Announced for NSW 2024 Industry Awards

Golf NSW, alongside Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG), the NSW Golf Course Superintendents Association,Golf Management Australia – NSW, and the PGA of Australia – NSW/ACT Division, is set to celebrate the outstanding contributions of our best individuals and affiliated members involved in the sport over the past 12 months at the 2024 NSW Golf Industry Awards.

The prestigious event will be held at The Crown Sydney, at Barangaroo, on November 11th, 2024. The evening will honour the achievements of the best players, clubs, volunteers, and industry leaders who have worked tirelessly to elevate the game of golf in New South Wales.

With an array of outstanding individuals across all facets of the sport, this year’s golf industry awards will spotlight our rising stars and industry veterans.

Golf NSW is delighted to announce the following finalists:

Golf NSW 2024 Players of the Year

Some of NSW’s top emerging talent have been nominated for the Male and Female Player of the Year awards. The finalists are:

These exceptional players have distinguished themselves and their state in domestic and international competitions, showcasing their talent and determination.

Golf NSW Clubs of the Year

The Metropolitan and Country Club of the Year awards recognise excellence on and off the course. They highlight clubs that have excelled in several areas, including member engagement, inclusivity, course improvements, and community outreach.

Each club has demonstrated remarkable growth and innovation, contributing significantly to the NSW golf community.

Golf NSW Volunteer of the Year

The Volunteer of the Year award honours individuals who have given countless hours of service to their clubs and communities, often behind the scenes.

This year’s finalists are:

  • Narelle Kriz – Cobar Golf & Bowling Club
  • Tony Cruise – Castle Hill Country Club
  • Bruce McMullen – Uralla Golf Club
  • Fred Walkshaw – Richmond Golf Club
  • Jon Janik – Moore Park Golf Club

These unsung heroes have shown incredible dedication to fostering a welcoming and thriving environment at their clubs.

Services to Golf in NSW

The Service to Golf in NSW award recognises those who have made lasting contributions to the sport, both on the course and in the broader golf community.

The 2024 finalists are:

  • Jim Jackson – Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club/ACT Monaro DGA
  • Greg Hohnen –  Killara Golf Club

These individuals have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the development of golf in NSW, ensuring the sport’s growth for future generations.

JNJG Junior Club of the Year

The Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) Junior Club of the Year award celebrates clubs that have excelled in fostering the development of young talent and creating pathways for junior golfers.

Their dedication to nurturing the next generation of golfers highlights these clubs’ vital role in ensuring the sport’s future success in NSW.

A Night to Remember

The 2024 NSW Golf Industry Awards will bring together over 300 players, administrators, club members, and industry stakeholders for a night of celebration and recognition. Hosted at one of Sydney’s premier venues, The Crown Barangaroo, the evening promises to be an unforgettable showcase of the best in golf across our great state.
