JOB: Part Time Accountant – Golf NSW (3 days)

Golf NSW is the governing body for golf in New South Wales, dedicated to promoting and supporting the game of golf at all levels. Golf NSW is seeking an experienced Part Time Accountant to join our team at our Head Office in Brighton Le Sands. This position is a part-time, 3 days per week, in-office role.

This position requires an individual with a strong background in accounting to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with the Finance Officer to manage the financial operations for Golf NSW, NSW Golf Foundation and the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day financial transactions for all bank accounts and stripe accounts
  • Ensure the accurate recording and classification of all financial transactions
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, annual budgets and forecasts
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts and general ledger accounts
  • Process weekly & monthly payroll and maintain accurate payroll records
  • Ensure the timely payment of all related statutory obligations
  • Monitor & follow up on outstanding accounts receivable on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of the BAS
  • Maintain the Golf NSW Asset Register
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Assist with the preparation of documentation for annual audits and assist our auditors as needed

Essential Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
