Clubs share in more than $4 million revenue – at no cost

POSTED ON March 9, 2017 @ 9:52 am

Golf Passport has been a regular feature in Australia since 2002, giving golf clubs the opportunity to convert vacant tee times into revenue.

With a network of more than 200 associated clubs throughout Australia, Golf Passport is widely supported because of its ease of use and cost free benefits, in 2016 generating more than $4 million in club revenue at no cost to the club.

Beginning of a new era

After being published as a voucher book for 12 years, Golf Rewards was formed in 2014 to facilitate the transition of Golf Passport to a digital program, providing additional benefits to associated clubs.

The change to a digital format also enabled Golf Passport to enhance its relationship with the corporate sector, in particular the loyalty market. This gives clients the opportunity to leverage the relationship Golf Passport has with many golf clubs, to add value to the organisation’s membership offering and increase member engagement.

Golf Passport now powers golf programs for various corporate clients including:

Club Benefits

Golf Passport’s core benefits have remained consistent over the years, supporting golf clubs by:

  • Generating additional green fees from vacant tee times – paid directly to the club on the day of play with no third-party involvement
  • Increasing course yield by ensuring tee times are subject to availability and allocation – meaning club can generate revenue at times that won’t interfere with member play and other course commitments
  • Generating additional revenue from equipment hire, golf merchandise, food and beverages
  • Providing clubs with ongoing marketing and promotional opportunities
  • Attracting new players, providing a pathway to club membership

Revenue and Costs

Golf Passport is primarily a yield management program for golf clubs, with no participation costs and no commissions payable. All revenue generated is paid to the club on the day of play at point-of-sale, with no 3rd party involvement and no accounts reconciliation.

Golf Passport is a membership-based program which enables the benefits to be provided to associated golf clubs free of charge.

Going International

With an increase in the number of international clients, generating new members throughout the Asia-Pacific region, Golf Passport is now extending its network of associated clubs to include New Zealand and beyond, in order to meet the demands of clients seeking global golf solutions.

As well as providing additional opportunities to corporate clients, these developments provide additional benefits to associated golf clubs by increasing marketing opportunities and offering international exposure.
