Kalgoorlie Golf Club Resort’s development plans revealed
Yesterday, the finalised plan for a $22 million development, including 120-room hotel, spa, restaurant and conference centre at the Kalgoorlie Golf Club Resort (WA) was announced by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
Architects Katsalidis Designs have drawn inspiration from the region’s mining identity in their design and City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder chief executive John Walker said the inspiring structure would become an iconic feature.
Some of the luxurious rooms will offer views of the courtyard featuring a swimming pool, a water feature, a gym while others will face the course. Verandas surrounding the restaurant and function rooms will offer alfresco dining options and are orientated to look on to the 18th fairway.
The combined space of the function areas is expected to accommodate up to 600 people and the clubhouse will come complete with pro-shop locker rooms and showers.
Mr Walker said as well as being visually appealing, the design was practical.
“The Kalgoorlie Golf Club Resort will not only offer a place of respite for golfers and tourists alike, but will also provide the business economy with top-class convention facilities,” he said.
The development, operated by Hilton Worldwide subsidiary DoubleTree, is expected to be completed late next year.
