This week, Redcliffe GC President Stephen Spiller announced to their members that Damon Lonnie has been appointed General Manager for the Club.
Damon has had a very distinguished career spanning over 25 years in General Manager roles at golf clubs including Royal Melbourne (2021-2024), Lake Karrinyup Country Club (WA: 2010-2021) and Croydon/Yering Meadows (Vic: 1999-2010).
Damon brings considerable skill and experience to Redcliffe Golf Club from his previous roles where he oversaw large-scale programs of work covering major course works, significant enhancements to the food & beverage functions at each venue and major facility upgrades.
Whilst he was at Lake Karrinyup, the club hosted seven Australasian and European Tour events. He also oversaw the move of Croydon GC (Vic) to what became Yering Meadows, a $30m project. He has served as the State Executive of the Golf Managers Association (GMA) in Vic and WA and National President of GMA for two years.
Damon remains an avid golfer and was a Division 1 Pennant player in Victoria in his younger days. Damon expressed his desire to re-engage with a “members’ club” and is excited by the opportunity to join Redcliffe as we enter a significant course restoration phase that will shape the long-term future of the club.
Damon will commence in the role on Monday, 17 February 2025.
