JOB: State Manager, Golf Partnerships – Future Golf (100k+)

About

Future Golf is seeking a passionate and experienced State Manager, Golf Partnerships, to lead and manage the operations of our golf and events services across two rapidly growing markets in New South Wales and Queensland.

This key role will involve overseeing and expanding the portfolio of Golf Club partners for Future Golf across two key strategic priority regions, New South Wales and Queensland.

Furthermore, it will be responsible for overseeing the Events program and staff in these States, managing partnerships with golf courses, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction within the region. The State Manager, Golf Partnerships will lead a team, drive operational excellence, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of golf participation in both states.

Key Responsibilities

The breakdown of the role will focus on the following objectives:

  • Partnership Management (~40%): Build and maintain strong relationships with golf course partners, clubs, and industry stakeholders. Negotiate new partnerships and manage existing ones to ensure value and alignment with Future Golf’s strategic goals.
  • Partner Acquisition (~40%): Develop and foster the sales pipeline for new golf partner acquisition on on-course and off course facilities in New South Wales and Queensland.
  • Event Management (~20%): Coordinate and execute golf events, tournaments, and other member engagement activities across the region. Ensure all events are well-organized and meet quality standards.

In delivering on these objectives, the State Manager, Golf Partnerships will demonstrate strength in the following areas:

  • Relationship Management: Ensure exceptional service is provided to Future Golf Club partners. Regularly assess Club feedback and adjust strategies to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Sales & Partnership Growth: Drive partnership growth within the region by identifying new opportunities, building local awareness, and promoting Future Golf’s offerings.
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of Future Golf’s golf related activities in New South Wales and Queensland, ensuring all programs, partnerships, and events are executed efficiently and align with company objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a team of events staff to ensure the effective delivery of all golf services. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance reviews to ensure a high level of team engagement and performance.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and manage the financial performance of the region, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to ensure profitability.
  • Reporting: Regularly report on operational performance, including key metrics and achievements, to the National Golf Operations Manager and executive team.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all operations adhere to health and safety guidelines, industry regulations, and Future Golf’s policies and procedures.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Experience: At least 3 years in a management role within the golf industry, preferably with a club or golf industry brand, with a strong understanding of golf operations, key stakeholders and networks, business development, and event management.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in leading and developing teams, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and drive performance.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders including team members, partners, and customers.
  • Customer Focus: Strong commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience and delivering results through customer engagement.
  • Business Acumen: Solid understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibilities.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues, find innovative solutions, and execute plans effectively under pressure.
  • Networking & Relationship Building: Strong ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key partners in the golf industry and local communities.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with using CRM and operations management tools, and general computer literacy.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in business management, sports management, or a related field preferred.
  • Golf industry certifications or experience in a golf course management role is highly desirable.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region as required on a regular basis.
